Superior interoperability with other Mesh networks

Motorola MB7621 vs Motorola MB8600

Only one peripheral may be used with the MB8600. The MB8600 may be linked to either a computer or a router. You can connect up to four devices to the MB8600 at once if your Internet service provider provides you with more than one IP address.   My May 2022 purchase of a Motorola MB8600 cable modem only has a single ethernet connector, not four. I'm disappointed since an extra port would be helpful for debugging purposes when connecting a laptop directly to the MB8600 without going through a different router.

The MB8600 Model is built with the future in mind. It requires a router that also supports Ethernet port bonding in order to achieve its maximum throughput of over 1Gbps.  The MB8600 modem may be used with any wireless access point. Given the MB8600's speed, an AC1900 router is minimally required. Your ability to take use of a stronger wireless connection is dependent on the devices already part of your network.
